Some things never change

Chapter 2        In times of trouble.               
      There's a game I play mentally to cheer myself up. I wonder what it was like in the past,
over two hundred years ago when the Karankawa people roamed these Texas shores. A
Spanish Padre wrote in 1768 about the Karankawa’s ritual eating habits.       
      "Savages lashed a captive intruder to a stake and then, dancing around they sliced off a
piece of flesh and roasted it in front of the victim. Then they would devour the flesh, as the victim watched in horror."'
      Doren my wife, asked me how something like that would cheer me up? It makes

me focus on the progress that has been made least wise in the food supply.
